Does anyone know how old she was supposed to be? She looked no older then 12. The reason I'm asking is that if she really was supposed to be like 12 why was she trying out for the squad and more importantly why was Jan making oral sex motions about a girl so young?!

She is probably supposed to be 14. In US high schools that's how old most freshmen are at the beginning of the school year. As for Jan making oral sex jokes, it's just good natured ribbing between friends, similar to the "Your mama" jokes that were so popular during that time period.

I always took the line "just tongue" as the guy saying she made out with a lot of guys, not that it was about oral. Get your mind out of the gutter.

She was 14 in the movie. A freshman and probably on the freshman team trying to get bumped up to the varsity team. The problem with that is there should have been a jv team as well. Unless the team we saw was jv and varsity.
