Of one school/cheerleading squads having unique cheers that another team then steals, is utter silliness.
Maybe a choreographed dance routine, but the "let's go Toros" cheers are all recycled between schools, teams, and even generations.

Seriously. They all go to camps over summer where they learn these cheers to take them back home and use them.
It's the same with arts programs in schools. My chorus teacher went to some kind of camp where she learned about medleys from famous american composers. She even showed us the video tape of her performing it with the other chorus teachers. We rocked those medleys.
