National Champions for five years

Something that I can't quite figure out....

The Toros have been the National Champions for five years running at the time of the movie.

But high school, in the U.S., is only for four years. So Big Red couldn't have been the one stealing the routines all that time--she wouldn't have been in high school the first year. Not to mention, I get the impression from the movies (I wasn't a cheerleader myself, so I honestly don't know) that the captain is usually a senior, and the captain is the one who decides the routines. How did Big Red get to call the shots from her freshman year to her senior year, unless the previous captains just thought she was that good and let her run the routines?

good point, but I'm still trying to figure out how they could do all that without an adult/coach/teacher supervising them?

Maybe it was a tradition? Big Red could have been sent down to Isis' school as early as freshman year to tape the routines because there were rumors that they had amazing routines but would never make it to nationals because of funding so they knew they were safe? That's what I've always assumed at least!

I believe the movie said they had five wins, not the 5th year if that makes sense. 2nd, Toro's reputation was originality so I assumed they always did new stuff and with Big Red being a b****, they may of trained them to use only her material.
