Super Mario 64 Vs. Donkey Kong 64

Which do you think was better? They both came out about the same time and are very similar, but I want to know who likes which better and why.

As for me, it's Donkey Kong. The story and characters are better and it was made very professionally for its time. Although it is also mostly because this was the first N64 game I had and really got into. But it is still better by a long shot, although Super Mario was very fun as well.

What do you think?

I've only played Super Mario 64 and it is truly a great classic (I now have it on Nintendo DS). Never played Donkey Kong 64 because I didn't have it back in the day but if it comes out on Nintendo DS I will be one to get it. I love all the SNES Donkey Kong Country games so it is def gonna be good on 3D.

I don't know, they're both awesome. I loved Donkey Kong 64, with all the characters, levels, great graphics, unlockables- I could go on for hours! And Super Mario 64 was the first video game I ever got completely into. I used to sit there and play if for hours trying to get one star. I still hook it up and play it now too. Except now I play it for hours and get PLENTY of stars! ;)

they didn't come out at the same time, mario 64 was a first generation game, donkey kong 64 came out at least a year aftwerwards.

Weird? They're practically the same game. Capture stars, get Golden Bananas...same thing.

Also, what game DOESN'T have guns nowadays? The creators were just trying to expand it out.
