defeating bowser!

who else here besides me took hours and hours tring to throw him on to on of the spiked bombs? it took me so long that i could hardly keep rotation the joystick with my thumb anybody here have that same problem?

when i think about it i do not think i have ever beat the first mario game on the nintendo system. So imagine my surprise when i first beat this mario game. Did it take you a long time to beat this one?

Man that was so long ago. I played this game to death... literally... the game cartridge does not work any more. Yeah it took me so long to get the rotation for Bowser right, and my heart nearly stopped when I beat him on the last stage, it was the first game I had ever beaten.

What you want to do is stand right in front of one of the spike bombs and turn your back to Bowser. This will make him run at you, then you do a backflip right over him when he is right behind you- then he sort of teeters at the edge for a second, giving you more than enough time to grab his tail. Then you only need to swing him 2 or 3 times because you are right next to the spike bomb and let him go.
