This film is a joke, avoid it !
I just lost 2 hours of my time.
This film is a shame, everything is wrongly done, it's just ridiculous.
The scenario is bad, it's supposed to be a film about exorcism, the only exorcist scene happen in the end and is laughable, not only because the makeup of the girl is the cheapest I've ever seen, but for everything actually... In the cursed church Indiana Jones finally recover it's faith in an instant, in the crypt the lights come from the roof despite he has only 1 lantern, the kid never look afraid, he stays here like everything will be alright, the devil crawls on the walls like an alien... omg, I can't list everything it's impossible.
The battle scene between the colonial troops and the natives is ridiculous, we never know how many they are, when the troops arrive there's 2 trucks with around 15 men, in the end it looks like they're 100. Same for the natives, they're supposed to be 15 vs 30, and the battle last for much too long, we don't understand why the natives don't all die before reaching the barricades, we don't understand why they all start to kill each others, we don't understand why the colonial leader shot himself for a few butterflies flapping their wings.
We don't understand what happened to the drunk man, we don't understand what the antiquities man is looking for and why and who he is, we don't understand what does the silver jewel given to the doctor represents, nothing is explained, and things we don't care about are developped, like the past of Indiana Jones when he was in Amsterdam in front of nazis killing people for fun...
The whole scenario is flawed. There are French guys in British colonial territory, and even an Italian (The sanatorium chief), Indiana Jones was Dutch before, now he's british, Indiana Jones kissed the doctor after he talked with her no more than 30 words, there are too many useless characters in this film, they're useless and their backgrounds aren't developped, we don't know who they are at all.
The cgi is ridiculous, even for a 2004 film.
I stop here, please watch The Rite instead of this *beep* !
