okay. i just watched this movie for my first time in. well probably since it came out.
i think it's a good movie. but the ending should be different. i mean, they totally should end up together. but with the big breakdown with "they should show what happens 6 months from now" and even on the plane at the end they brought it up again.
how could the movie NOT show what happens 6 months from now. i just would have been a better ending imo
that was your complaint about the ending? i would think the main complaint would be that the ending just sucked complete monkey balls. Could it be any cornier? I guess it was even worse that I saw Before Sunset right before this too.
Haha I agree. The main complaint is that this ending was absolutely stupid. I couldn't help but think that if I was on that flight and the main girl was sitting next to me talking like that, I would turn and smack her.
I was thinking the same thing actually, that they should of showed 6 months later, considering how many times that issue was addressed...Yeah it was cornie but, its a feel good movie, I take it for what it was...cute.
I think a better ending would have been to have Forlani and Detmer finally admit their lesbian lust for each other and give in to each other... Freddy Prinz finds them in bed and blows his brains out with a shotgun. Fin
Yeah, the ending did kinda ruin it. Not that it was such a great movie to begin with, but the scene where he tells her how he felt about that night and how much her reaction hurt him was really good and even the song they used for the montage worked. Then it was the cheesy catch him at the airport ending. I hoped for more.
The ending pretty much makes it worthless to watch more than twice at the most. The movie has limited rewatch value. I think I saw it because Jimbo from American Pie fame was in it. It was nice to see him get with the girl in the end.Besides that it is hard to give this movie anything higher than a 5.
I didn't think it was a terrible ending- although so cliched it felt like a total copy of about 5 different films (isn't there another film that ends with the bloke counting on an aeroplane and he had a fear of flying??? Can't quite remember).
Anyway, it kind of worked because of the circularity of the beginning and ending- yet their characters had developed through knowing each other. He'd learnt to relax more and 'go with the flow' and she'd learnt to trust and put her faith in another person.
I think it's right that they didn't show '6 months from now' as it would have been far to neat! Also part of the moral of the film is trust in the here and now, go with the present and enjoy it!
