Gal's wage

How much money does Ted give Gal at the end of the movie. It seemed like a very few money. I think he said " a tenner". What's that ? Ten pounds ?

Yep. Teddy knew Gal had somehow disposed of Don and wasn't about to pay him their agreed-upon wage for the robbery. The real pay-off Teddy gave Gal was letting him go. And I loved Teddy's threat to come "visit" Gal in Spain someday.

Yes that was clever in two ways: Gal's paradise is threatened still by the life he's retired from and it allowed for a possible sequel.

Teddy didn't pay Gal the agreed money because Gal lied, and continually lied, to him.

I didn't see Teddy saying he'd pay his respects a threat. Teddy doesn't need to make threats. Teddy's business with Gal was done. Teddy didn't give an eff about Don. Teddy said as much.

There was no "agreed money", Gal even states as much.

But the low payment was in leu of Don's life.

But he did walk away with those fabulous diamond and ruby earrings for Dee Dee..and they were worth a fortune. Depending on the stones and quality (and they were big) we're talking a potential six figures. He loved her so much and he really risked his life to steal those for her. Loved how she wore them by the pool at the end. This is one of my favorite movies.
