for years I hear about this silly movie called sexy beast, thinking its some kinda sex comedy or something, but the plot has nothing to do with it. so can someone tell me WHY the movie is called sexy beast if its not about sex?

Anyway, it's just the kind of phrase a cockney gangster might use. I'm guessing it's in reference to Ray Winstone's character, who probably thinks he's a bit of a sexy beast as he walks around his villa with all his junk on show.

It's a complimentary phrase used to describe a man who perhaps is not physically attractive, but otherwise someone with whom you should hold in high regard as the sum of all of their parts contextually.
A beast is a powerful and sometimes mythical animal which can promote fear and respect in equal parts.
Someone who is 'sexy' does not have to be physically attractive to attain this title, mainly because beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Does the title have to mean something for you to enjoy the film? It could refer to Ray Winstone's character Gal, or to Ian McShane's Teddy. Personally I think it refers to the criminal lifestyle symbolized by the gun-toting man-rabbit. When Gal buries Don under the pool he has also buried this sexy beast - he has left that life behind him for good this time.
Just my interpretation.
