Possible inspirations for Gal Dove

Here are some real life gangsters who Gal Dove could have been modeled after:

Ronnie Knight
Kenneth Noye
Patsy Adams
Mad Micky McAvoy
Mickey Green

These men were once British mobsters who fled England and moved to Spain. It's possible that Gal was a combination of some or all of them. Who do I think he is? Not sure, but if I was guessing i'd say Ronnie Knight. The others are well known and don't seem to fit the profile as closely. But knowing how much attention the Costa Mob has received, Gal Dove may very well have been the product of a imaginitative script writer rather than a characture of a exiled gangster.

I think Ronnie Knight is your best bet. He was a ladies' man who was also called Ronnie the Gent. In terms of the era it is set, Noye fits the look and location of Gal, but not the soul. Ronnie Knight is more Gal's soul

Kenneth Noye is more Don, or Teddy, than Gal.

loads of gangsters go to spain to retire so it doesnt have to be any of them. also kenneth noye was a violent ******* so i doubt it would've been him or any other violent man. Gal is a gentle soul at heart.

are they still going there? i thought it had ended with a change in the law a few years ago.

i found an article on this once; i will try to find it again.
