I can't even start to express my "blown-away-ness" of his performance, it's AMAZING!
agree?

It's abso-bloody-lutely fantastic. Watched it again last night just to see him in it. Couldn't remember what the rest of the film was like, just his incredible performance. At first it's quite comical, but theres a breaking point where he turns terrifying.
shareI can't describe my feelings, too.
I watched it yesterday, just for KIngsley's performance
and got one of the best performances of all time.
ABsolutely awesome!!!!!!
mediocre signature 6/10 nothing more, nothing less

Couldn't agree more. The film itself, plot-wise, is actually pretty lousy, but this is one of the few films I keep on tape to watch over and over again. Simply because of Kingsley. This was Gandhi for goodness' sake!
shareKingsley is loud, showy and obnoxious... it's a performance for people too overstimulated to register anything subtler.

i agree, it was way over the top. in fact, it kindof lessens the impact of that character, makes him more of a caricature or cartoonish, rather than genuine.
i think understatement would have been better there (but i know that most people will praise him for it. the way they praise greengrass' shakicam in the bourne movies)
good call, that people are too overstimulated to register subtler things

Boohoo. You didn't like it, therefore all who did are simply too dumb to judge? How painful and lonely life must be for you, existing on a plane apart from the heaving masses. Would it be too painful to simply grow a pair?

He says "*beep*" a lot and is only in the film maybe 30 minutes (of a 90 minute movie). He doesn't even DO anything except yell a bunch. Lousy film all the way around.

At some point I'd like to watch 'Ghandi' and 'Sexy Beast' back to back to get an even deeper appreciation of Kingsley's breadth. Saw him live in a one person play called 'Kean'. Phenomenal!
It's so lonesome in the saddle since my horse died.

Oh, I get it! You're trying to do an impression of Kingsley from this film while insulting me!
You guys do realize that NOTHING happens in this movie... right?
Let's See...
A boulder barely misses Gal and lands in the pool. Love that scene!
Don comes in like a tornado and completely creeps everyone out with words and attitude alone.
Don pees on Gal's bathroom floor; out of spite, I guess.
Don assaults Gal awake to yell at him some more. (I'd Love to do that to someone!)
Don gets kicked off of an Airplane because he's a smoking sociopath.
Not to spoil anything, but, great violent scenes, great tension scenes, and beautiful landscape scenes. Not to mention, the music. I loved the music.
Enough happened in this movie to those of us that love it. It's OK if others don't like it, that's why we all have choices that cater to our tastes. We can agree to disagree. It's just a movie.
I think pi$$ing on the floor was some sort of primitive territory marking. Ownership. I can do what I want.

Murders, arguments, assaults, a bank robbery and someone getting rammed up the bum. That's nothing, eh?

He was perfectly cast for the role, but who would've thought?
An incredible actor.
Ben Kingsley did a great job of portraying a certain type of character, but I thought the character he came up with was wrong for this role.
He just came across as an angry "rainman" type of guy. I didn't think he was believable as being a higher up of an organized crime syndicate.
He just struck me as odd, and not canny enough for the fear he was supposedly instilling in Gal and his friends' lives.
Ben Kingsley certainly proved his versatility as an actor (supposedly, he said that he had more fun playing Don Logan than any other role).
Some actors play the same character and personality in movie after movie. A true actor can play a brutal thug like Logan in one movie and Mahatma Gandhi in another, while being equally convincing in both roles.

It's just a shame he's a complete dickhead in real life.
Since my only "contact" with actors and actresses is when I see them in a movie, I really don't give a damn what they're like in real life.
Definitely agree. He scared the crap out of me.
In fact, it was difficult on occasion to watch -- both for his performance in itself, and for the fact that he reminded me so strongly of my ex-boss. (Yeah, even down to the bad language and the lie-telling.) Freaky, I tell ya.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

I hardly post on these sites, but when I wanna say something, I gotta say it. Yeah man, Kingsley is the man. I've seen him in so many flics where his performance is just flawless. I just saw this movie for the first time and was so blown away with how original and FUNNY it was to watch. All of their performances were so real that I could see the humor in it.
Kudos for a great flic. And to a great actor.
