Considering Gal got glassed the previous day on the side of his head,wouldn't he have a fresh wound with stitches on show and the firm would question him about it?

You saw a bandage he got rid off in the shower but the would did rather disappear fast.

How is it a plot hole??

Why not assume that during the meal at the resturant the night before, he was asked about it but off camera.
If he got asked about it, all he'd say is he whacked it on something.
It's hardly relevant to the plot.
