Why is Izzy such a rock star name??

I can't remember if its ever mentioned why or how he gets the name izzy, but it just brings to mind izzy stradlin etc.

They don't elaborate on it in the film, the lead of Steel Dragon just introduces him that way during the press conference before his first show with them.
