Dungeons + Dragons episode?

I remember watching on tv (I think it was an After School Special) about dungeons & dragons. They made it out to be all bad and satanic. It drove the kids playing it to do crazy things for experience. I remember a scene where two kids were fighting each other with staffs. Does anyone else remember this?

That vaguely sounds like an ep of "Greatest American Hero". Bob Sagat played one of the gamers, if memory serves...
