'A Movie Star's Daughter,' 1979

Does anyone remember "A Movie Star's Daughter" from 1979, featuring a "nerd" girl who gains acceptance by a clique when they find out her father (Frank Converse) is a movie star? I found it on VHS in the buck bin of a video store. It's very entertaining and well written, the type of story that has inspired countless films like "Heathers" and "Mean Girls."

I didn't catch this when it aired, but better late than never. I wish more of these episodes were as easy to find. 8/10 stars.

I do, too. I managed to find a DVD set of; "The Pinballs", "Francesca, Baby," "Beat the Turtle Drum," and "Trouble River," at a Suncoast Video store some years back.

I also remember the "Movie Star's Daughter," because it starred that girl that was in "Times Square." It was on YouTube at one time. Don't know if it still is, though.

That DVD set was a great find! I especially remember "Francesca, Baby" well, about the girl whose mother was an alcoholic. I believe I also had the book, which I ordered from that company that published the Weekly Reader (I think).

I had forgotten Trini Alvarado was in Times Square! I loved that film. Looks like she's returned to acting. She's only 44 (yes, only).

There's only a small clip from "A Movie Star's Daughter" on YouTube now as far as I can tell:
