Window made of glass bottle bottoms?!

I remember a movie/show in which a father and son try to get a window for their wife/mother. Seems like they lived in the woods in a log cabin and the wife/mother wanted a window, so the husband/son set about trying to get one for her. They didn't have the money to buy one and things kept popping up to keep them from earning the money. Finally, in the end, they hit upon the idea of making the window using the bottoms of glass bottles. I think the end of the movie shows the window installed and the family looking out at the snow falling.
