What really happened to Milton, owner of the UFO Center?

i never could acceot the stoty brody handed out so blithly about 'buying out Milton'. milton han his lifes work tied up in that place, and only trusted max and maria into his 'inner sanctum. brody was schitzod-one time trusting, another totally split over it. so how could somone like milton be bought off, even for millions, a lifetime of research!

someone needs to track down poor old milton. odd , quirky, but a sweet guy

You could argue it was lazy writing. Brody was a nice guy. Probably didn't kill him to get a museum.

I agree to lazy writing. I was always bothered by the fact that his character was out in season 2, and the writers tried to do a romance thing with Brody and Maria in season 2. Maybe they were angling for another love interest for her other than Michael. Another flaw that I didn't like in season 2.

I’m Liz Parker and five days ago I died. But then the really amazing thing happened. I came to life.

I think it was a perfectly acceptable explanation. As I recall, Milton only used the proceeds from the UFO Center to fund his alien research. I don't think it was expressly stated in the show, but from observation episode to episode, it doesn't seem like Milton was making much headway. Brody buying him out for (apparently) a significant amount makes sense as I figure Milton would jump at the chance for a large sum of cash to use to greatly further his research without having to split his time between running the Center and chasing after clues. It's what I would do if I were an alien-chasing nutjob like Milton. Plus I would keep a close eye on Brody because even as an alien-chasing nutjob, I'd find someone who's willing to pay so much for a tourist trap in a small town highly peculiar. In my mind, that person would either also be an alien-chasing nutjob, or someone trying to cover up the truth. In either scenario, I would use it to my advantage by keeping tabs on that person while using their cash to pursue my own research. Anyway, that's just what I think... maybe Milton finally got tired of spending all his cash with no return and decided to throw in the towel and live hassle free in the Bahamas somewhere. It wouldn't be the first time in the history of the world someone has had an epiphany and realizes midway through their life that their existence thus far has been wasted unsuccessfully chasing their obsession-- hmmmm..... nahhhh, Milton is the hopeless type. He's probably still to this day interviewing purported abductees and blazing through the world looking for crop circles and whatnot lol.

The metal library pod room thing that contained all of Milton's research and most valued books wasn't there after Brody moved in. As someone else has said, Milton himself said that the UFO Centre was 'just a tourist trap' to fund his UFO research. If Brody offered him enough money to take his books and go off and spend the rest of his life researching, it's logical that he would've accepted. He was nearing retirement age anyway from the looks of him.

The mirror... it's broken.
Yes, I know. I like it that way. Makes me look the way I feel.

It was stranger that the UFO museum competely disappears in season 3, especially since it's supposedly right across the street from the diner (and that Max now has a car but no job).

I know it was included in season 2 with the whole hostage episode but do we ever see Max working in season 2? The UFO centre just seems to sit there with Brody inside from what i remember.
