Toby broke a news story that was classified

Why did he do that? Why would people think he was a hero? Did he save his brother’s life?

To prevent three astronauts from dying. I would have done the same thing.

It was a complicated situation. He wanted to save the lives of the astronauts, including his brother. But, i think what drove him more was his anger that his government had secretly weaponized space with a military space shuttle.

His brother was not one of the astronauts on the ISS at the time of the incident, the show alluded to his death(by suicide after being diagnosed with terminal cancer) in an earlier episode...However, David(the brother) was indeed the source of the classified info(existence of a military shuttle) that Toby leaked!
