Why wasn't he credited as the the POTUS after Jeb's daughter was kidnapped???
shareI haven't seen this series but I plan to one day. Perhaps production was fast-tracked to the point where everything was already made before Goodman's involvement could be secured. So rushed, his credit could not make it in time. Was his appearance supposed to be a surprise? It's okay, you can tell me, provided there's a spoiler tag.

Glenn Alan Walken was the character he played and all the staff in the West Wing were frightened that the public would like him better and that he'd be a shoe in for the next republican nomination if he handled it well.
He was the Speaker of the House as I recall.
Line of succession goes VP, SOH. Hoynes (Bartletts VP) had resigned because of his affair therefore Walken became the acting President due to Line of Succession.

Alan Alda for example who played Arnold Vinnick, the republican nominee for President in the final season, was added to the credits I think because he was a series regular and appeared in most if not all of the episodes in the final season.
Goodman's character if I remember correctly only joined the show because of the kidnapping and Bartlett temporarily resigned. John Hoynes the VP would've replaced him but he resigned because of an affair.
Suppose Goodman was a semi big star they wanted for the Speaker role and was just a guest star. Besides that I couldn't say why he didn't get credit.
Sounds reasonable.
