Potus Interruptus

I started watching The West Wing just over a month ago and am now on the final series. I have found it superb, except for the fact that in this show absolutely whatever anyone's doing it seems that it can be rudely interrupted. No-one ever says, "Can you just hang on for two minutes, I am really busy here." Recently, I have watched Josh Lyman walk out of a meeting he seemed to be chairing at the time - not sure he ever got back - and later he burst into his presidential candidate's private room, where the candidate and his wife were having sex. I think it was something like Lyman thought that the latest polling returns from Idaho were incredibly important and just couldn't wait.

In my opinion, the thought that people were always interrupting or eating on the go, is because everyone is so busy and decisions are made so quickly, that nothing can wait. That's how I've always seen it anyway.
