They just don't make DCOMs like they used to...

I'm watching it on Disney Channel right now, and I'm really shocked at how good the cinematography is. For a TV movie, let alone a Disney Channel Original Movie, the cinematography is really fantastic. There's also some charm that can be found in this one that you really don't see in any of the newer DCOMs.

Now I admit it's not a particularly great movie, but it's much better than the stuff they're making nowadays. Between this, Smart House, Miracle in Lane 21 (or whatever the Frankie Muniz soapbox racing movie is called), My Date With the President's Daughter, THE COLOR OF FRIENDSHIP, Halloweentown, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century...

I don't know if it's just because I grew up with all of these, so there is a huge nostalgia factor, but I think Disney Channel Original Movies were just genuinely much better back in these days. They were very entertaining, actually had a lot of really good qualities, and The Color of Friendship is still probably my favorite movie centered around segregation and racism yet. You can't say many good things about the newer DCOMs, that's for sure.

So am I the only one that thinks they just don't make Disney Channel Original Movies like they used to? Or is it just the nostalgia factor?

No, it's not just you. A lot of people I know say the same thin. I remember I had a friend over and we watching some Disney Channel movie with my sister. We looked at each other and we were like, "what has happened to Disney?!"

If you don't want a smart ass answer, don't ask such a stupid question.
