Why is Jesus at the end of this movie wearing street clothes walking on the streets? When he makes his second coming,he is suppose to descend from the clouds to take everyone with him.

In the European version of this movie, there is a scene where Jeremy is in modern clothes and his hair is a little shorter and he meets a bunch of kids and walks with them down the road. it was not in the CBS United States version, which sux.
As a matter of fact, the US version of this mini was heavily edited because of American standards and CBS being afraid to offend Christians. Here is a link to the alternate ending and other good stuff.

Are Christians morons who will believe anything about their savior?
Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.
The alternate ending is fascinating. I can't believe they edited that out. Not only was it not offensive, but also very touching. Too bad.
Take care, and God bless.

It was very touching and kind of fun, to see what Jesus might look like in our times. I have no idea why CBS would think it would offend anyone. I hope someday they put out a special edition DVD with this ending for US viewers.

From what I understand the minseries was edited for time issues not because they were afraid of offending viewers.
shareExcept that I remember seeing that ending when I watched it on TV. It was not the European version, it was the regular CBS version. So they did show that ending. It is not on the DVD.
shareThey aired this during the local news segment following the CBS broadcast in the Los Angeles area. I wish it were on the DVD.

I remember thinking how cool that ending was the first time it aired in 1999. Then the next year, the only time they re-ran it, the ending was cut out! Plus it's not even on the dvd... even as "bonus footage". Wonder what the *big deal* was?
shareThe first time CBS aired it, they showed that ending. When they ran it the next Easter, they edited it out.
Can't believe they didn't include it on the dvd.
Watching it on TBN now. Great movie!
