My history with this movie

On Sunday November 4th of 2001, two days after this movie happened, my parents and my younger brother and I all went to our local Regal Cinema affiliate in order for all four of us to attend the opening weekend of Monsters, Inc. This first time we did so, my father was gonna have to urgently run to the restroom and miss For the Birds, but arrived back in time to see the movie with us patrons when the Walt Disney pictures bumper was juxtaposed on the screen, and then the long arm reached for the end credits. When all four of us saw it again on Sunday December 2nd of that same year, my father caught the aforementioned short movie along with us and the end credits crawl was intercut with the accompanying outtakes.

I know this movie was originally mixed in Dolby Digital Surround EX and originally presented in 2D when it came out just shortly after that same Halloween of 2001, (I still remember seeing some films of that period like yesterday, when Regal had all those Dolby sets that they're still equipped with today.) but it's a great thing that Disney and Pixar re-released this thing on 3D Blu-ray just shortly after last Valentine's Day of 2013 following it 3D re-release around the preceding Christmas of 2012 with a Dolby TrueHD 7.1 audio track recorded on it. But long before this, it wasn't issued on VHS and/or DVD until literally Tuesday September 17th of 2002. Therefore, last Christmas of 2013, I was gonna get the 3D Blu-ray of Monsters University, which I'd seen at the local drive-in with my immediate family just before the end of last June, but instead all I came across was this one on said format. Here's hoping I get Monsters U soon on the aforementioned format. Need I go on, or is that it? Either way, I can't wait to get the prequel on 3D Blu-ray!
