Knight Rider Similarities \ Parrallels with this show and KR!

I always thought that this show had a Knight Rider vibe to it!

Jeff always loved Jody the way Michael always loved Bonnie. You could tell Michael was more than a friend of Bonnie's the same way Jeff was more than a friend to Jodie.

The cast had great chemistry on both shows. Nothing seemes like forced acting, and it seemed too natural.

Sam was the old but soft spoken boss just like Devon on KR.

TXL could be the female counterpart of KITT. TXL was a talking computer, like KITT was a talking car.

TXL worked along side Sam and helped others. Michael worked along side KITT to help others in trouble.

KITT was protective of Michael and helped him. TXL was protective of Sam, and Sam was protective of TXL. Michael and KITT were protective of each other.

Both TXL and KITT had great voices that were both fitting for their respective characters..

Instead of fighting crime on KR, Today's Special fought crime of a different kind. Their missions were to teach viewers about how life works.

Jeff always wore the plaid checkered vest and plaid magic hat.

Michael always wore the leather jacket.

Interesting. I always thought that TXL was a lot like Synergy from "Jem and the Holograms", myself. Muffy, I think, comes from the influence of Jim Henson and the Muppets (and Sesame Street) at that time. And to a certain extent, Sam and the other puppets, too. He kind of reminds me of Statler and Waldorf (AKA "The two old guys in the balcony"). There was also a lot of cool fantasy shows back in the 80s. One in particular that makes me think of TS is the "Mannequin" movie series, even though there aren't actually accessories that make the mannequin in question come to life, as with Jeff. You can draw quite a few parallels.

Mannequin 1 and 2 immediately make me think of TS, just like TS makes me think of Mannequin 1 and 2.

In Mannequin , Andrew McCarthy's character, Jonathan falls for Emmy the mannequin.

In Mannequin 2, William Ragsdale's character Jason falls for Jessie the mannequin.

Mannequin could be maybe a movie play-off of TS!

TS ended production in 1987. I think Mannequin was released the same year.

Jodie not exactly falls in love with Jeff the mannequin like Jonathan and Emmy do, but Jodie and Jeff are great friends.

So TS, is like genders of the mannequin roles reversed.

We can almost imagine a Mannequin movie made up of Jeff and Jodie.

But Jodie could be the mannequin and Jeff the human!

Some some fun fan-fic.
