Last 2 seasons were weak

They were still funny, but not as hilarious as the first 2 seasons.

In seasons 3 and 4 we got much less of a "bizarre philosophy McGuirk" and more of a "I'm gonna get into zany situations" McGuirk.

They also weened off the movie making, which was a mistake IMO.

Season 2 had some of the best eps, season 1 was ok but the squiggle vision killed it for me. 3 and 4 were just as good though, i cant recall how many times ive watched Broken Dreams, Camp, Cho and the Adventures of Amy Lee and others.

I love season 3. It's got episodes that actually make me laugh out loud. That's not to say the earlier ones aren't great as well though.

Seriously? Season 3 was the best season of the show by far. I do agree on season 4, it got a little outlandish at times, but it was still very good on the whole.

By quality I say 3>2>4>1.

I think season 4 was the best, and I also believe that had it gone on another few seasons, it would've only gotten better. My favorite episodes are mostly in the 4th season, and my all-time favorite episode was the "Camp Campingston Falls" one. Season 4 also really gives the Coach McGuirk character a chance to shine! It's such a shame there were only 4 seasons...it really leaves you dying for more, and it certainly wasn't played-out that it couldn't have easily filled out a 5th season. It just feels like the series ended too soon, like it was cut off right as it was hitting its peak. But maybe that's better than the series getting canceled AFTER it peaked and was heading downhill. Better to burn out than to fade away, eh?

"They also weened off the movie making, which was a mistake IMO."

I don't know what you mean by that, and I certainly disagree. The movie-making was prominent in every episode - please name me ONE episode where they don't have the movie-making going on at all. There are none. The one & only time the movie-making REALLY ended, was when Brendon drops his camera out the car window & it smashes to pieces, right after he's come to the conclusion that they should stop making movies anyway, because they're not as good as they thought they were, and it was becoming more of a "chore" than fun. And that IS the LAST episode, and Brendon & his team knew it was going to be the last episode, so they ended it that way intentionally. Giving a rather sad feel to the episode, but at least knowing that Brendon, Melissa & Jason would no doubt remain friends from that point on.
