I think shes awesome personally.
shareYeah she is pretty cute, I'd love to name my daughter Melissa one day. and by the way Eric (her father) is HILARIOUS
Eric : So did you sell any houses today ? No ? LOSER!! hehe just kidding!
I like Eric too. I like the relationship that they have together. As I like the relationship that Paula and Brenden have. Reminds me of the way me and my parents goof around.
All of the true things I am about to tell you are shameless lies.
She "gets under your skin!?" Pssh! She's one of the best characters in the show! She's not screamy, whiney or annoying in ANY way, in fact she's the one with the cool head when Brendon & Jason start screaming & freaking out over something, or arguing over something ridiculous! And her personal fears & quirks are hilarious. How can she possibly be "annoying?" One of the funniest episodes is when Erik forces her to become a "Fairy Princess" when he gets the notion that Melissa isn't feminine enough, since she doesn't have a mother figure in her life. And the time Melissa began wearing make-up was another hilarious moment. Females get ripped off, still, in TV shows & movies, often failing to be presented as strong, in-control, and equal in status to the male characters around them. Mainly because they're STILL being portrayed as a pair of boobs on legs, a helpless maiden requiring saving, and being served as eye-candy for the male audience. Melissa is one of those rare gems, a female portrayed as equally strong, smart, & creative as her male counterparts, even in the face of the unintentionally sexist McGuirk, who likes to take his frustration about women out on Melissa from time to time!
If ANY character is whiney, helpless, not-too-bright, & annoying, it's Jason.

I can't understand your crazy moon language.

Frankly Marissa's only problem is that she sometimes acts as the voice of reason or straight man and as far as those roles go she's one of the best never falling into the trap of being a obnoxious way for the writer to shove some message that clearly comes from someone far older in your face, see Huey Freeman, Lisa Simpson, Stan and kyle.
What?! Melissa is one of my favorite characters on any show, ever. How can anyone help but love her?
And if you watch the special features, the real Melissa seems like a delightful person also, very quick-witted and charming.
Melissa has some of my favorite moments subtle moments in the show. Like when she causally walked away from Brenden when the rabid cat attacked him and when she got all dramatic about having lice.
Because sponges never have bad days.
I love melissa, she's definitely a great counterpoint, great voice and very real sounding. They really could have messed up by getting someone with a horrible voice or someone who overplayed her. They got it right this time.
shareOP is a crackhead, Melissa was great. And the real Melissa was too, if you ever saw one of the interviews with her and Brendon. She was adorable.
