rated R?

I read that this movie was at one point rated R, but it got bumped down to a PG-13 on an appeal. What was deemed "R" worthy with this movie?

Mostly for the hallucinogenic tea / sex scene and also some profanity. I believe the edited it down a bit to get it to PG-13.
