What's the point of those visions???

I'm a huge fan of this franchise. It's a very intriguing, intense, creepy and so gruesomely entertaining series but I still don't get the importance of those visions. Almost all characters are dead. What power (or Force, or God) caused those visions???

I think the visions exist because of the belief that if life is pre-determied, fate already exists, out there.

My favorite Final Destination is the 4th – DEAL with it!

I think it was just a flaw in the design of the universe or a sensitivity (a sixth sense or something) certain people possess, making them able to "read" Death's plans.

Several of Death's clues include the number 666, which means that Death is an evil force. These clues are mainly found in major incidents (like in 'McKinley Speedway Accident' where Car 6 goes into the Pit Stop, the car, and two #6 flags form the number 666 and in 'Flight 180 incident' before Alex enters the plane, he sees a van passing beneath him. It's number reads 666).

therefore it can be theorized that death( or what ever the entity in these movies that causes these) is not actually fallowing the plan of what ever higher power rules the final destination universe maybe its really just some demonic serial killer with powers over life and death

so maybe a higher power is giving these individuals these visions so that he or she can defeat deaths power and eventually destroy death(or what ever the entities true name is)

It is exactly that question that I came to the boards for tonight. I was rewatching them all and thinking to myself 'what is the point if it's inevitable'. Of course it makes the entire story to the movie, but still!

They are a plot device, otherwise the film wouldn't work. We the movie goer are watching two versions of the film, how they die and how they don't

Feels like... predator - Element Death - giving its prey a peek of his possible route of offensive, and the prey make predictions in order to set up countermeasures on possible route A, then the predator would have more fun hunting its targets by taking the element-of-surprise route B...

Doesn't make much sense, but this is like us watching the movie trailers and previews - they give us parts and pieces and we make predictions and assumptions, then when the full movie hits we're like, "Ahh, so that's how it goes."
