So Julia was sooo obnoxious in her acceptance speech, ignoring the time limit etc. But I noticed that she never once acknowledged Erin Brocovich herself as the inspiration for the movie. It would only have been courteous since without the woman, there would be no movie and no Oscar for Julia. Julia has some big ego...
I dunno. Rumor has it that there wasn't much harmony between Roberts and Brockovich in real life. Brockovich reportedly was vehemently against Roberts playing her in the film, so is that's true, it wouldn't stretch the imagination too much to think that Roberts' failing to mention Brockovich during the acceptance speech was a passive aggressive snub. I'm not asserting that that was what it was, but if had been, I wouldn't have been shocked.
Nor would I have considered it that big of a deal, really.
Where did you get that rumor from? Doesn't seem very accurate. Here is Erin Brockovich actually talking about Julia Roberts... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=w3atXY41EYM
Anyway, she absolutely should have mentioned her in her speech but sometimes things slip your mind I guess...still that's quite an obvious oops.
