Worst episode
What do fans consider the worst episode?
sharePilot + Kim Kelly Is My Friend are probably my least favorites (I should re-watch the show). They're still okay though.
shareYeah, Kim's family episode was mildly required yet a complete speedbump.
'Noshing & Moshing' is my other not so hot eps. Neal's older brother Barry is a tool, & just like their father as he lays one on Lindsay.
Daniel going full punk rocker was goofy.
My least favorite would have to be (even though it's a very good episode)...Tricks and Treats. The idea of them Trick or Treating during the day just doesn't work for me. They could've used camera tricks to make it look like night or something. Still, I love all the episodes.

Agree- who would go out hell raising on Halloween in the daytime? Even most little kids wait until it gets dark to go out trick or treating. Also, in a northern climate like Michigan, the leaves would be nearly dead or have fallen off by late October, yet the trees shown are very green and leafy.
Anyways, my least favorite episode is Dead Dogs and Gym Teachers-I noted 2 errors the first time I watched it:
1.The dog Goliath was shown in a photo, and appeared to be a Great Dane-these dogs have an average life span of 7-8 years or so. At the funeral, the grave marker stated 1965-1981, which would have made him 16 years old. The oldest known Great Dane was 15 or 16 years old, so it is extremely unlikely that Goliath would have been that old.
2. The Who concert-the Freaks referred to this being the Who's final tour several times. That tour did not begin until 1982, and this show was set in 1981 per the dog's grave stone.
However, Nick's performance of 'Lady L' and the Bill/Coach Fredricks conflict made up for the above sloppy fact checking.
Raj, there's no place for truth on the Internet.
Agreed on the daytime Halloween issue - as I recall in the episode it was a Friday night too (and I just checked my calendar for 1980 - it matches!) Halloween on a Fri night was and is still something special since you had no school the next day (or work, for the adult party goers) so you could stay out later which meant not starting out so early, and most definitely not during when the sun is still overhead. Sunset in Detroit during that time of year already is before 6pm, so pretty crazy they would have been out in what appears to be something like 4:30 in the afternoon. Nobody ever trick or treated at that time where I'm from. My guess is that it would have been harder/costlier to do the street scenes with the costumes on in the dark, requiring more intense camera work. Weak.
sharekim kelly is my friend is the best episode
shareFor me the worst ep is the one about Kim and her family. I get why they did it but it was just so violent and uncomfortable that it was not enjoyable.
The other that goes on the list for me is the one where Lindsay gets high. It was too drawn out and I hated the half of the episode with Bill's allergy because everyone was SO mean to him leading up to it, even his friends.
"Why couldn't the monkey arrange this from INSIDE the garbage can?"
Honestly the finale (Discos and Dragons). Everyone remembers the ending, but the main feeling I got from it was "wait, that's it, it's over". I didn't really care for either of the actual main story-lines in the episode either (Daniel playing D&D and Nick hanging out at discos). It felt a little anti-climactic. I know most people like it though and I think it's the highest rated episode on here
shareChokin and Tokin. The old web site, Jumping the Shark, alleged that this was the episode where the series took the leap. Although I fervently disagree. I will say that half this episode, the Chokin part was less than credible. When the cheerleaders visited Sam and Neil at the hospital to console them over Bill's near death experience...that bit was a little contrived. Other than that a perfect episode.
shareAfter re-watching TOP3 worst episodes:
1. Noshing and Moshing - I've never really liked this episode, not even as a teen who loved punk (and still do), but now I can't even watch this because of how they portray punk rock here. So annoying. And like someone already said, Daniel going all punk all of a sudden seems kinda goofy, though somewhat understandable behavior from a teenager. I also hate Neil's older brother and his antics here.
2. Kim Kelly Is My Friend - I've grown to really like Kim Kelly character and it was needed to show why she was so loud and aggressive, but I still can't bear the scene with her parents. Also Karen Scarfolli is the worst, and I hate Rashida Jones' acting here.
3. Discos and Dragons - This used to be one of my favorite episodes, and for some parts it still is. I like Lindsay's (and Kim's) story line, but can't stand Nick's and Daniel's. It just seemed too out of characters for Nick to go on with disco dancing and Daniel to hang out with the geeks playing D&D and enjoying it that much. Teenagers try new things and change even drastically, but still this was too much.
