I noticed throughout the episodes that, unlike all the other main characters (Lindsey, Sam, Daniel...), Kim didn't show up in the intro, inicial credits, whatever you wanna call it. Why??? She was such an important character too.

In Busy Phillips case I say a very good actress (very good) knew she had been hired as an extra, took her shot, stole almost every scene (subliminally) and next thing you know writers are adding her more and more to the stories.

shareAt the time they filmed the opening Kim was going to be a secondary character who only showed up now and then. After they started working with Busy they realized the possibilities and increased the size of her role. It was too late to redo the opening for season one, but they intended to add her to the opening of season two. Which never came.
Some of the delay was also due to her agent, which she explains in the commentary track for Dead Dogs and Gym teachers. The agent was trying to hold out for more money and that created some delays in getting her signed.
