So, she's not afraid to stick up for and ask the retarded kid who gets picked on to the dance, and then even go dances with him - yet she's caving into the peer pressure of the burnouts who hang out behind the school and smoke? I don't get it.
Clearly she is not, she is always leery and uneasy about it, but does it anyway because she doesn't want to disappoint the group. Further, I didn't say I agreed or disagreed with her actions, I simply said she caved in to the pressure.
Lindsay is going through a very difficult time after the death of her grandmother. It was a shock to her system bringing her to question the equity of life. Her faith is shaken in living life the right way so she is tentatively opening up to a different group of kids. The group of kids that couldn't be more different than the Mathletes. So she is acting unsure about everything because it is a major change.I hope you keep watching because I think it is the most brilliant series ever! Enjoy!
Actually, about half way in to the 3rd episode I just lost interest. It seemed like it had potential at first, since I am a 70's/80's kid myself this genre is always something I give a shot.
Maybe it gets better, maybe I'll sit down and give it another try at some point, but I just kinda got tired of them all being the same basic premise: She's the good girl, the bad kids want her to do something that could have bad consequences, she doesn't want to, but does anyway.
Maybe you should've been younger when you first watched the series? I mean I would've loved Gilmore Girls or My So Called life when I was 14-16 years old, but I was over 20 when I first watched them and though they both were fine, they were JUST fine and I love F&G and I was about 14 when I watched this. I don't know, different strokes for different folks.
