Stranger Things

'Oh it's just like the 80s it captures my childhood so much' - everyone

'Oh please.' - anyone who has ever seen Freaks and Geeks.

Stranger Things doesn't seem to capture actual 80's childhood so much as it captures the teenage sci-fi adventure movies that came out around that time.

I like parts of ST, but agree that Freaks and Geeks depicts 80's teenage life a lot better.

Two different genres idiot.

Two great shows. Stranger Things captures the spirit of 1980s sci-fi while Freaks & Geeks covers 1980s suburban high school culture. Comparisons can definitely be made, but the two shows serve totally different purposes.

That they're two different genres is irrelevant. My point was that people rave about ST being such a great nostalgia show when in reality there is very LITTLE nostalgic things in it. Rotary dial phones, Walkie talkies, BMX bikes ... that's about it. Every episode of F+G has DOZENS of nostalgic props and elements. There's no comparison.

Shame no one gave a f ukk about the show when it was first on.
