Why is the first kill based on an urban legend if the prof says it was amys idea that gave him the idea to kill people in this way and frame her for the murders? He didnt know her film idea at this point? Is it just a coincidence or a goof?

Did you two even watch the movie? The first kill happened after she discussed the idea with the teacher and got approval.
