Cry_Wolf (2005)

Does anyone think that the plot of Cry_Wolf is similar to the Urban Legends movies?

I can understand why people disagree, and can't see any connection between the Urban Legends movies and Cry_Wolf, but consider this;

In each of the Urban Legends films, the villain takes fictitious urban legends and re-enacts them for real, in order to kill people.

In Cry_Wolf, the villain creates a fictitious urban legend about a murderer called 'the Wolf', and re-enacts it for real (sort of) in order to trick an innocent individual into killing someone on their behalf.

I regard Cry_Wolf as practically being an unofficial entry in the Urban Legends series. I've read an interview with Cry_Wolf's director, in which he says that he is a fan of the first Urban Legend, so there seems little doubt that the Urban Legends films were an influence.

You're joking right? I've never heard anyone use the word "great" in the same sentence with Cry Wolf...that movie was horrible...it started with an ok build but I felt like I was watching an edited TV version of a bad movie...they never showed the killer COMPLETE any murder; it was like you'd see the killer start to kill someone but you never saw them finish...OMG, total waste of time, IMO!!!! The original Urban Legend is no comparison to this mess of a movie; it may have copied aspects of other movies but at least it was done well!

Err.. that's because the killer actually doesn't kill them. It's all a hoax, remember?

Yeah, Cry_Wolf pretty much borrowed the plot from April Fool's Day....which, in turn, borrowed the concpt from Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians"/"And Then There Were None". Although April Fool's Day was more comedy-horror, especially in its first half.

No one really dies in Cry Wolf. All the murders are staged. Only the girl dies in the beginning because of the psycho student and the teacher at the end who is believed to be the killer because of the guy thinking the murders were real.

I could see Cry Wolf being a part of the Urban Legends series, hell it was better than Urban Legends: Bloody Mary.
