Filmed on Location Where?

Although I have never traveled to Scotland, I assumed this film was shot on location there. The movie database lists Germany, Netherlands, and USA as the countries. No mention of Scotland. I realize the nationality of the actors isn't a good indication of where a picture was filmed, but of all the cast members whose birthplace is listed on the movie database, only Iain De Caestecker(Nigel)was born in Scotland. I wondered if anyone had any knowledge of the filming locations. Maybe I missed somethng in the credits at the end. Wherever this film was made, the scenery was certainly credible as being in Scotland.

I think it said Germany tho it looks so much like Scotland tho.you're right

some of the movie was filmed at dundas castle just outside of edinburgh scotland

At least some of the film (the school scenes for definate) were filmed in my hometown of Linlithgow, near Edinburgh.
Dunno about the rest of the movie, but at least some was filmed in Scotland.

Just wondering, is the Golf course bit set in Dunbar(East of Edinburgh) I live just along from there and could have sworn it was Dunbar Rock.

Edit: Not 'Dunbar Rock', I meant Bass Rock lol and I got mixed up, I meant one of the rocks off of North Berwick, and it is.

One good place to find movie filming locations is IMDB.

One scene had an ariel view of a gothic style building built around all four sides of a courtyard. Scenes which were supposed to be that building were actually filmed in the great marble hall of a totally separate builting, Gosford House. I suspect that the great hall of Gosford House is too large to fit inside any of the wings of the building it was supposed to be inside.
