The bulldog scene at the end, hilarious

I thought this was a passable movie. Sandra Bullock, though not always picking deep roles, usually brings a certain presence to her movies that helps to elevate the material.

Anyway, aside from the relationship issues at the end, I thought the scene with the bulldog was hilarious. Here's this pathetic, ex-rehab, eccentric character, I forgot his name, and he's at the flower shop and this bulldog is just sitting there looking like bulldogs do, i.e. disinterested about everything. Then Bullok's character, Gwen, says something about the dog, and the guy says, "I don't even think he likes me."(the dog). That's funny stuff. If you can't even get a dog to like you, which would just be a matter of giving it food and water and not hurting it, you got problems. Plus, it was just a bizarre thing to say to someone.

Anyone else think this was hilarious??

Ya, I think that whole scene is hilarious. It's so funny. And he's like, to the shopowner, "I'm never gunna get laid!" That's just funny. I love that guy. He's hilarious through the whole movie. Remember this:

"I always thought Gwen was a lesbian."
"I'm not a lesbian!"
"It'd be okay if you were you know."

I just love him.

A great comic relief edition to an upsetting movie that you really have to think about.

how could you not love dear Alan Tudyk as Gerhardt. best part was they let ALan improv nearly all his scenes. they would just be like, 'Alan make up something about getting through life'...and he came up with forks. the plant shop scene was beyond funny.
"It is very important to me that i did not kill this plant, u understand?...i...it...I"M NEVA" GUNNA GET LAID!!" poor Alan.
he made up the bit about his package too. he simply looked down and noticed it, so he just blurted it out. brilliant line. effin' brilliant line...i luv Gerhardt.
funny tho, on the DVD's commentary, they were all laughing about the scene. "Alan just said it and eveyone looked and we all developed a new respect for him."
