Stripper

Was Alan Tudyk's character Gerhardt a stripper. I can't remember and for some reason I keep thinking that he was. If you could answer this that would be great.

I would think so. He had a shirt with his own logo on it in the last scene - PopArt of him with a box over his crotch reading "Delicate Package".

Gay porn, or stripper.

For some reason I thought "advertising".

He is supposed to be some kind of actor, dancer, and/or performance artist--but probably not a stripper. The t-shirt he wears in the last scene advertising some kind of show starring himself has on it the logo of the Public Theater (http://www.publictheater.org/), one of the most important and influential theaters in America, the founder of New York's "Shakespeare in Central Park" programs, and the place where many of Broadway's best-known plays and musicals (including Hair and A Chorus Line) started their runs. They have done many "edgy" plays with "adult themes," but they are not exactly a strip club. If I had to guess, I would guess that Gerhard's show is probably supposed to be some sort of one-man performance-art piece, like the one-woman shows by Anna Deveare Smith or Elaine Stritch that the real Public Theater has staged in the past.
