Apology question

I know Sandra said "I'm sorry I'm impossible to love" or whatever toward the end, but it was a little awkward I think, considering she owed her sister a ton of huge apologies. They had several phones calls and Sandra didn't apologize. Sis came to family day and Sandra didn't apologize (she even denied giving the speech). I sort of expected Sandra to apologize and really be sorry for the stuff she did...instead she apologized for being unlovable. I guess I don't see her as being sorry at all.

I think you're missing the fact that there is such a thing as 'alcohol related amnesia' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackout_%28alcohol-related_amnesia%29. It wasn't that she denied it, she genuinely had forgotten about it.

I think you're also missing that Lily also had to shoulder some of the 'blame' and when she did that Gwen was able to also begin. Gwen did attempt apologies but Lily was so (understandably) upset with her it took Andrea's suicide/overdose to be a point at which Lily could let down her hostility without losing face. It's not an uncommon mechanism for reconciliation.
