Sock Monkey contained Andrea's fatal dose?

Just watched this again after a long while. Right before Andrea's departure, she was handed a sock monkey, "Here, someone sent you this..." Later, when Gwen finds her in their room, there's a shot of the toilet with the sock monkey on it along with drug paraphernalia. It seemed to me that someone sent the sock monkey to Andrea with the drugs inside, though you'd think the staff would check anything that came in the mail pretty thoroughly. Did anyone else get that impression?

Yes, the sock monkey contained the drugs and paraphernalia. I've never been to rehab, but I would imagine they would search a little better than that. I would also think they would search the visitors and not let in a bottle of vicodin and a thermos of champagne so easily. The same with a court ordered patient just jumping into a car and driving away. I just chalk it up to a requiring a suspension of belief to make the story work.

It's suspension of disbelief. My dad was in rehab and they checked everything before it got to him and most of the things we brought (razor, shaving cream, etc.) they held and he would ask to use it under supervision.
