Alicia's desend

Did you guys buy Alicia's desend into bed hopping and being a coke head? Can Hadley and the rest of them be blamed for this or is this all Alicia?

In a way i think Hadley and her friends had a power, if thats what you could call it, over Alicia, but surely she would have been able to say no to all the bad things she got into. Hadley and her friends never forced Alicia to use drugs and into sleeping around, it was her own choice.

I think the popularity got to her head.. It's a shame, but it does happen (and not just in the movies).

Alicia is obviously very manipulative. You can tell this from the fact that she plays on each differant persons fears and deepest emotions (having no dad, being bullemic, having been molested, etc.). Whether these are true or not (some probably are, but it's doubtful all of them are) she still uses them to make the girls trust her (and she even uses it to some extent when she's trying to get her financial aid).

We also see from her break-downs and such that she's unstable (although probably no moreso than most teenagers) and we see from her and Hadley in the hospital that she's very calm, manipulative, etc.

I think she's a power-junkie and she did most of the bed-hopping and manipulation so she could feel in control. I think Hadley and co can be blamed for introducing her to drugs and drinking, but I think a lot of it was Alicia too.

I would say its all Alicia. The girls were providers, but I don't remember her being forced. She willing slept with one of the girls, but was able to push her away the 2nd time. For the guys, it looks like she was the one who was the aggressor and was looking for it. I don't see how the other girls had anything to do with it. They made her pretty, introduced her to new friends, and were able to get the drugs, but she is the one who chose to take it and take as much as she did and sleep with the guys.
