I think he is upset at how the film turned out. I don't know why. I loved it. Better than the original in my opinion.

You can find John Hughes' racist writing handiwork in it too with the "Sarasim" line and the only other person of color in the movie was a purse snatcher.

reply

you ignorant american, john hughes wrote none of this, jean-marie poiré did in the original "Les Visiteurs" in 1993 and I still laugh at the Saracen line whenever I watch it.

there are also tears in my eyes and I can't believe they did this movie. just, no. they should have concentrated on making a third, final chapter to the real movies instead.

I found this movie funny. I havn't seen the french one and i never will since I just finished gr. 9 french and I still don't know a friggen word. O well...

This movie still is funny!

Unfortunately I did work on this film and John Hughes DID write the script.... but there was a rather painful falling out and John removed himself from the project and his name. The script that was shot was much of his and lot of many other people which explains much of what happened to the movie.

I enjoyed the remake almost as much as the original, although the original is obviously better.

If you're still around 8 years later (although your profile says you last signed in only a year ago), you'll probably be very happy to hear that Les Visiteurs 3 has been announced. It'll be released sometime next year and Reno and Clavier will be reprising their roles.

What about all the black Chicago cops?
Where they not black? And the museum security guard who witnesses the whole thing in the first place?

He is talking about the original movie when he said that. The scene he is referencing is only in the original if I'm not mistaking. I saw Just Visiting first and loved it, wasn't aware it was a remake so I caught the remake recently...I like them both.

Poorly done sequence of peepee and poopoo gags. The servant Andre is almost more annoying than Jerry Lewis, another comic question mark that the French hold in high regard. Awful!

I was laughing uncontrollably a couple of times. The cat was looking at me like I was crazy! Which I guess I am, because I just paid good money to have a copy in my collection. And I had only seen it once before, back when it was still new!

A really good movie, if you are in the mood for laughing.
