This movie is better than the Original.

You have got to be kidding did you actually watch 1 & 2?

I've been trying to get an english dub of those 2 for years and couldn't (on retail DVD, if they exists at all?) because I wanted to show my Dad the films, because I watched them by accident years ago and laughed myself silly, I gave up and ended up showing him this extremely poor imitation!

The French films are much funnier due to the frentic nature of the way the comedy creates it's own confusion! How can you like this over them? Seriously!!

I found the originals to be just too darn long.

Well, for me, this movie (USA remake) is cut down to fit public that have concentration problems. Its short, the jokes are even simpler... I guess, those who like it more, come from USA? If that is true, then the guys knew what they were doing with this movie.

The original movie is much better... But this one is made for simple minded American...
So if you guys liked it, they did good job adapting it to the audiance.

I'm not American and I agree. The remake is better because of better pacing, less dirty jokes and better chemistry between the actors. There seems to be a genuine bond between the characters.

After reading this I had to finally watch this movie.
Now that I have, I am shocked.

This movie is nowhere near the originals.
Like I wrote in another thread, just having 2 characters for Christian Clavier is enough, to make them so much better.
The actresses are much hotter in the remake (and they even added a 3rd one...) but they're much less funny, especially Tara Reid vs Marie-Anne Chazal...
Adding that relationship issue was useless, as the movie shouldn't be about the couple, but about the 2 (or 3 in this case) coming from a different time. It was just a time waster, and of course a way to display another girl on the screen...

The only way I see someone would prefer this, is someone that does not speak French to watch the others in their native language...

Until I saw this post I didn't know this was a remake. Have to see if I can find it/them.
