Other movies presenting vampires as non supernatural?(already seen UW)

Hi there,

Are there any other movies except Underworld series and Blade trilogy that present vampires as a different specie (either an offshot of humanity or the result of a mutation caused by a virus) and NOT as supernatural beings?

I liked the way Underworld and Blade gave some "scientific" explanation to the existence of vampires, and I would like to know if there is more stuff like this out there.

They clearly stand out of the pile of vampire movies that follows the usual concept with the undead supernatural creatures, deamons, crosses, holy water and so on (like for example the usual Ann Rice novels, I m fed up with that, I wouldn't like to watch another vampire movie of this kind).

I ve also already seen Ultraviolet, so, please don't recommend this (barely to be considered a movie, given the fact of how lame it was).

Any suggestions?

Well, the fact it doesn't have any supernatural elements sounds promising. Thanks! But, does it explain their existence somehow?? Or just uses vampires without giving a clue about their existence and what they are? I haven't heard any good reviews by the way...

Awesome. Although I would prefer to see the vampires more like creatures dealing with the inner beast, and not ruthless and emotionless killing predators (they looked more like the zombies of resident evil, rather than smart vampires). And a sexy female vampire like Selina from UW or Danica from blade, and not the deformed one we saw, wouldn't hurt. Anyway, very good movie. Added it to my pirated collection. Thanks!!!

What do you say for the movie "From Dusk till Dawn"?

Again, I don't care about how good it may be, but for the way it present vampires (not supernatural)

Get killed by crosses and can turn into bats, so very supernatural. Awesome film though, even though the bits without the vamps in it are better.

Sayonara, not to be confused with cyanide, which is, of course, goodbye in any language.

Can't think of any other movies, but check out I AM LEGEND (the novel). There is a scientific explanation as to their origins, and a very excellent one. I haven't seen the older adaptations, The Last Man on Earth and Omega man, but they may present the vampires in the same fashion. A truly excellent novel, possibly the best of the genre.

Have you all seen "Lifeforce (1985)"? An underrated and very unique Sci-fi take on the vampire and zombie myths where both vampires and zombies came from a race of aliens eons ago and served as the anchesters to both creatures.

There was a British TV series called Ultraviolet which had a paramilitary organization fight against vampires using scientific methods.

Ultraviolet was made a movie by the director of Equilibrium and starring Milla Jojovich. The vampires there are infected with some virus. They are called Hemophages.
Great concept badly executed. But if you like this sort of theme you might want to check it.

Night Hunter (1996) - with Don " The Dragon" Wilson

A vampire/ Martial Arts movie

Its Barely Ok if you're down to watch the B-Rated type, Pretty *beep* compared to the movies you mentioned. But at least the Vamps arent supernatural in this movie. The main character in the story has a book that was passed down from generation to generation about how to properly kill vamps. In this movie Crosses,Holy water, bullets dont really work. Instead you got to break their Necks or Spines to kill them.

So I see that you are a Downloading Movie Collector. Well if you want this movie, it's available online. just search. I know cause I'm the Uploader :)

I dont want to bring your hopes up, but just to be safe - Let's just say the Movie Sucks!! lol
