who else thinks this sequel puts a stake in the heart of the original its just i think everything they got right in blade they got wrong in blade 2 which is still entertaining but the orginal blade was so good and had alot of heart i think they ruined it by bringing whistler back on his side he should of been a bad guy instead and karen the new mentor perhaps she should of died in blade 2 and blade and karens relationship strenghtens in the sequel thats how it should of been but oh well
Hey Speed, why you don't accept the fact that Blade II is a better film than the 1st one. I just watched again Blade and Blade II, and my opinion haven't changed a bit. Blade II is a lot more suspenseful and darker, plus the action sequences are much more intense and better choreographed. , in particular the last showdown between Nomak and Blade. Just compare that battle with the dull final showdown between Deacon Frost and Blade in the original movie. There is no comparison. Finally Blade II is a better directed film. It has a better cast plus the cinematography is top notch.
Seems you are a hardcore fan of Blade saga, so I can't understand why you dislike Blade II since IMO (and the opinion of most fans plus many renowned critics) is the best movie from the Blade trilogy.
I enjoyed Blade. I loved Blade II. I was disappointed by Blade III.
liked all the blade movies each film is diffrent in style i just like the first ones style better but enjoyed blade 2 and trinity had its momments but was the end of the franchise
I can't understand this. I loved the original Blade since the first time I saw it.
I was in 8th grade when I saw Blade 2 in theaters and I thought it was terrible. I thought the last fight was stupid, I thought the idea of the mutant strain of vampire had potential but was handed terribly. The guy from the Boondock Saints was miscast, his betrayal was awfully mishandled garbage, Whistler being in the movie at all after he was supposed to have shot himself was stupid, him being converted back into a human was ridiculous, the squad of vampires out to kill the ugly as hell, awfully designed new breed of vampires was bad.
Thinking maybe I just misjudged it when it came out, I watched it again last year. It was worse than I remembered. This movie is bad. Guillermo del Toro makes bad movies. This man is responsible for Hellboy, for god's sake. Pan's Labyrinth (which was overrated, but still really good) is del Toro's exception, not his rule.
I gotta agree with themonk182 on Del Toro. He's very overrated as a director and Pan's Labyrinth is one of the few movies he has made that I thought deserved all the praise it got. Blade 2 felt like it was made by a director who couldn't care less about the character.
