Why are the vampires so against using UV weapons?

They had those suits earlier on, when the vampire chick and the vampire black dude went to ask Blade for help towards the beginning of the movie, that we see block all UV light. Remember? Blade has those big UV stage lights in his hideout, and the two vampires aren't hurt by it at all. Then, later on in the movie, they freak out when anybody suggests that they use UV weapons, and when Blade brings them down into the tunnels at sunrise. What happened to their UV blocking suits from earlier?

Good point,I found it to be a pretty weak movie on second viewing,way to many discrepancies.Blade surrounded by Reavers,one shots all of them,yet a whole team of armed vampires can't take one down.Blade gets shot in the leg,few minutes later he's fine,fair enough,he has all the strength ,none of the weakness,yada yada yada,but the vamps don't appear to have much in the way of any strength in this series at all,they get hurt,they stay hurt.Really though,your point about wearing a balaclava or something saving a lot of hardship for the "elite" vamps is well noted,and probably the biggest flaw of all.Whistler died in the first one too,no?Then he's kept in stasis for TWO years!!just waiting around for Blade to release him.....

Blade was close and taking head shots and those reapers kept getting back up. Blade heals fast and so do the vamps. But not all vamps are warriors like Blade and the blood pack.
