CromeRose: If you're not a fan of visual design and "cool" imagery, what are you doing watching A.) a comic book movie and B.) a Guillermo Del Toro movie and C.) a contemporary vampire movie? Any one of those criteria signals style over substance.
Nope. I hated that contrived music video crap. It's so overdone and beaten to death in every movie directed by these new MTV generation babies who have grown up into movie directors after being spoon fed dreadfully over edited shows that are peddling all the latest music. Everything in this movie was so over staged and the fight coreography/editing was terrible because in most cuts you could see the start/end of each individually staged stunt.

But this film was directed by Del Toro. What "MTV music director" are you referring to? That scene was just a style and it didn't exactly set the mood for the whole film.
