Donnie Yen never wanted to be in the movie, he just wanted to choreograph the fight scenes
shareSnowman was caught off-guard because he didn't expect his comrade Lighthammer to turn into a Reaper. He probably got wacked by the hammer with his back turned like that, putting him out of commission for atleast a few seconds. Thas more than enough time for a Reaper to take a chomp out of you.
shareWhile I agree, the Snowman death was the only thing I didn't like, It didn't take me off the movie and I also agree, I don't think he wanted to be in the movie to the end...though I think he would've been a good comrad to Blade.

It was the director's choice. Have a sword fight in a small tunnel, which would look ridiculous because of the tight quarters, cause a lot of noise and most likely they would get ambushed by reapers.
Or choose the creepy angel to where your mind imagines what happened before Lighthammer had his first feeding as a new reaper.
