UV filters on flashlights?
I was looking for an answer for this, but couldn't find it listed anywhere, so I'm asking it here:
Wouldn't the 'UV filters' on the flashlights they use throughout the movie be MORE harmful to all of the blood pack(and other vampires/reapers), than the white light when the filter is removed?
After all, an ultraviolet filter of the variety used in the movie would remove all light besides the ultraviolet band, if I'm not mistaken (though I could be which is why I'm asking).
So, lets say they did have some sort of high-output light radiation source, such as a compact metal-halide bulb with the protective coating removed (which can actually cause eye and skin injury, though there are no compact and portable versions that I'm aware of), you would use an infrared filter (as in, all light waves besides the infrared wave lengths are filtered out, thus making it safe), not an ultraviolet filter to make the light safe.
Am I completely incorrect on this and wrong-thinking, or is this something that was so commonly understood when the movie released that they goofed on it that it isn't listed in the 'goofs' portion, or searchable anywhere on the internet?
