if you could re-cast SPACE COWBOYS, who would would you cast as the four cowboys? i would stay with clint eastwood, but here's my re-cast:
clint eastwood as frank corvin
tom skeritt as hawk hawkins(tommy lee jones)
jack palance as jerry o'neill(donald sutherland)
james coburn as tank sullivan(james garner)
Er, no! I wouldnt watch that film.
Keep Clint and keep Tommy Lee.

I read in the comments that Jack Nicholson was supposed to play Tank originally and Sean Connery was slotted to play Jerry (Donald Sutherland's character). I could totally Sean Connery in that role (but Jack Nicholson-not so much)
shareSutherland and Garner are terrific, and besides, they have long histories with Eastwood (Eastwood guest-starred in a 1958 episode of Garner's Maverick television series, and Sutherland co-starred with Eastwood in Kelly's Heroes, shot in Yugoslavia in 1969). So the idea of a final round-up of old colleagues carried some real-life resonance.
